Finalists Tackle Natural Disaster Relief at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair 2011
May 31st, 2011 by InspiredbyEducationAt this year’s Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, a program of the Society for Science & the Public, some finalists showcased their disaster relief projects. Mark Sands and Calvin Ling used radar to create a 2-dimensional image of oil, which is essential in oil spill cleaning. Another finalist, Rohan Arepally, combined mathematics and computer science to create an algorithm focused on the successful evacuation of a community in the event of a natural disaster.
