The Intel Science Talent Search is in full swing and over the past few days we’ve learned a lot more about the finalists. One of the main goals of the program is to encourage U.S. students to become more involved in math and science.

We asked some of the top 40 for some insight as to what might encourage students to fall in love with math and science.

The Intel Science Talent Search (Intel STS) is America’s most prestigious science research competition for high school seniors. Beginning in 1998 with Intel, SSP has provided a national stage for America's best and brightest young scientists to present original research to nationally recognized professional scientists.

Society for Science & the Public partners with Intel – along with dozens of other corporate, academic, government and science-focused sponsors – who provide support and awards for the Intel ISEF each year.
