Erika DeBenedictis wins Intel Science Talent Search
March 17th, 2010 by adminSTS 2010 is in the books and winner Erika DeBenedictis took home top honors at this year’s competition and $100,000 from the Intel Foundation! For her project, Erika developed a software navigation system to help improve spacecraft travel through the solar system.
Other top winners include David Liu, who took home 2nd place and $75,000 for his work to develop a system to recognize and understand digital images.
Akhil Mathew rounds out the top three with $50,000 for his project on Deligne categories, which is a setting for studying a wide range of algebraic structures with ties to theoretical physics.
