Intel Science Talent Search 2011 Winners Announced!

Tonight, honoring high school seniors with exceptional promise in math and science, Intel and Society for Science & the Public announced the winners of America’s most elite and demanding high school research competition, the Intel Science Talent Search! This year’s winners are:

• First Place: Evan O’Dorney, 17, of Danville, CA

• Second Place: Michelle Hackman, 17, of Great Neck, NY

• Third Place: Matthew Miller, 18, of Elon, NC

• Fourth Place: Madeleine Ball, 18, of Dallas, TX

• Fifth Place: Selena Li, 17, of Fair Oaks, CA

• Sixth Place: Keenan Monks, 17, of Hazelton, PA

• Seventh Place: Benjamin Clark, 15, of Lancaster, PA

• Eighth Place: Xiaoyu “Carrie” Cao, 17, of San Diego, CA

• Ninth Place: Jenny Liu, 18, of Orange, CT

• Tenth Place: Scott Boisvert, 17, of Chandler, AZ

The winners were announced at the Intel Science Talent Search black-tie gala awards ceremony held at the National Building Museum and featured Intel President and CEO Paul Otellini. This year’s competition included a rigorous judging process, interaction with leading scientists and meetings with national leaders, science advisors to President Obama, and an assortment of U.S. Senators and Congressmen.
