Intel and The Oscars Find Science Stars
February 28th, 2011 by InspiredbyEducationWhen Natalie Portman accepted her Oscar last night, many people likely did not know that in the 1990s she was recognized on a much different national stage for her outstanding research as a semifinalist in the Intel Science Talent Search, a program of Society for Science & the Public. As the New York Times describes today, past Science Talent Search finalists have gone on to win some of the most prestigious honors in math and science, but Natalie is our first Academy Award winner! Please join us in congratulating Natalie for both her Oscar win and her excellence in math and science.
