Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) People's Choice Award - 2009

The Intel ISEF People's Choice Awards for 2009 allows the public to vote for their favorite science submission from the 19 Best in Category winners of the Intel ISEF who have agreed to enter their projects in the People's Choice Awards. These Official Rules for the Intel ISEF People's Choice Awards (the "Rules") govern the role of participation. The results and voting in the Intel ISEF People's Choice Award have no influence, bearing or consideration in the results or judging of other prizes awarded at Intel ISEF.

  1. 1. Who is Eligible to Participate: The nineteen (19) category award winners of the Intel ISEF 2009 who have agreed to participate in the Intel ISEF People's Choice Awards.
  2. 2. People's Choice Award and Voting: Beginning May 18 2009, contestants who have agreed to participate (describe and enter their projects) in the Intel ISEF People's Choice Awards will be featured on www.inspiredbyeducation.com. The website will include a brief description and a picture of the competing projects. Visitors to the Website will be encouraged to vote on their favorite project by using the voting buttons provided on the website. Voting will begin on May 20th and end on June 1, 2009 at 12 pm EST. After this time no more votes will be accepted.
  3. 3. People's Choice Winners: The science projects that receive the most votes will be spotlighted on the award Website. Votes will be tallied electronically.
  4. 4. Prizes: Winners will be notified via email on June 5, 2009. The winning projects will be spotlighted on the People's Choice website. First place prize is an HP - Mini Netbook with Intel® Atom™ Processor, second place prize is an Apple® - iPod touch® 8GB* MP3 Player - Black and third place prize is an Apple® - iPod nano® 8GB* MP3 Player - Black. Prizes will be shipped to the winner after the contest results are announced.
  5. 5. Voting criteria: Voters should vote for the students whose project they feel is most creative, innovative, and has the most potential to positively change our world.

General Rules

  1. 1. All applicable taxes on prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.
  2. 2. Prize is not transferable and no cash alternative or prize substitution is available, except that Intel reserves the right to substitute cash or a similar prize of equal or greater value if the prize listed is unavailable for any reason.
  3. 3. This contest is governed by U.S. law and is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  4. 4. Intel is not responsible for any computer malfunction, hacking, destruction, unavailability, or damage to the contest website that may result in missed or not received votes, or voting discrepancy.
  5. 6. Intel reserves the right to cancel, postpone or end the contest at any time, at its sole discretion, or to disqualify any participant or winner that Intel, at its sole discretion, deems to have cheated, destroyed, obstructed, or otherwise acted illegally or in bad faith in relation to this promotion.

No personal information from voters will be collected by Intel for this contest.
