Intel ISEF winners from Brazil meet with President Lula

August 11th, 2009 by InspiredbyEducation

Last week, the winners of Intel International Science Engineering Fair from Brazil met with President Lula as well as Ministers of Education and Communication. Science and Technology representatives also attended the meeting. President Lula was very impressed with the students’ accomplishments and involved in conversations with them about their aspirations for the future.

Here’s what some of the teachers and students had to say about their Intel ISEF experience:

  • Participating at Intel ISEF was my dream! Meeting the President of Brazil was something I never thought about. I am only 17! – Ana Clara Cassanti, 17, São Paulo.
  • It changed my perception of the world. I developed my talent, got to know people and made my dream come true. Rafael Telis Gazzin Pessoa, 17 – Minas Gerais
  • Participating at Intel ISEF is a great opportunity to meet science and technology young people that share the same interest as your students, even in the other side of the world. Marcos Zuccollotto, mentor teacher – Fundação Liberato, Rio Grande do Sul.
  • The fact that our student participated at Intel ISEF stimulated others in our school to do the same. Following by example.  – Maria Celeste Monteiro de Souza Costa, mentor teacher from CEFET, Minas Gerais
  • The award gotten by our students was the proof point of dedication: from the students and from the teachers; they grow and so do we. – Sandra Maria Rudella Tonidandel, mentor teacher from Dante Aleghieri, São Paulo.
  • Receiving Intel ISFE award was “the prize” for my journey inside the science – Felipe Gabriel Kuhn Soares, 19, Rio Grande do Sul.
  • I feel I am older than 17 now! Why? Because I know we can make things possible when we go for them! Thanks – Ana Claudia Cassanti, 17 – São Paulo
  • The dreams are now near and so is the world. Now I realize that fostering a career of biologist is not bad as others may think.  Ivan lavender Candido Ferreira, 18, São Paulo
