Honored Madison teacher uses personal experiences
July 31st, 2009 by InspiredbyEducationWhen Madison Elementary School teacher Pamela Thompson was a little girl, she loved visiting The Old Man of the Mountain, a stone-face landmark in northern New Hampshire.
She also had a favorite beach that she and her family would visit every summer on Cape Cod, in Massachusetts.
The Old Man is gone now, and so is most of that sandy beach, victims of natural erosion and weathering.
Thompson, 53, of Industry, used those two naturally occurring events as classroom centerpieces last year for science projects for her third-grade students.
